I think most of candidates are able to find lots of information on this web news such as how recruitment team select the suitable candidates from online application also the preference.

It's also mentioned the 75% of total flight crew must be female. I think this info giving male candidates a explanation of why male are mostly only need to submit the resume and photo in open day seasons.

This is a great article and news let people get to know more about Emirates, especially before the open day season in Taipei next week.

Cheers, grant

Mideast refiners to cut jet fuel exports in 2009by Luke Pachymuthu on Wednesday, 17 December 2008

Middle East refiners will cut jet fuel exports by 11 percent in 2009 as surging domestic demand mops up supplies even as the global downturn bites, analysts and traders said.

Just when European and North American airlines are struggling with falling passenger travel and cargo demand, the Middle East aviation sector is pressing ahead with fleet and airport expansion plans being funded by the region's bulging oil revenues.

Exports from the region are expected to be about 350,000 barrels a day (bpd) next year, they said, versus 390,000 in 2008.

Traffic volumes in the Middle East are expected to rise 1.2 percent in 2009, making it an exception to a global forecast for a 3.6 percent decline, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said.

"The region is starting from a low base so the room for them to grow is relatively higher than the developed countries," Serene Gardiner, an analyst with Standard Chartered, said.

Aviation fuel demand in the Middle East is expected to grow 4 percent in 2009, a Standard Chartered report said, compared with five percent growth this year.

Dubai's Emirates Airline, the largest Arab carrier, has already said it expects no delays to the delivery of its Airbus A380 orders. It has 58 Airbus A380s on order worth over $18 billion.

And Emirates remains on schedule to receive its fourth Airbus A380 before the end of the year, and is expected to receive its fifth plane before the end of March 2009, the company said recently. It has 58 Airbus A380s on order worth over $18 billion.

Qatar Airways is not seeing signs of fewer bookings despite the financial turmoil, the company's vice president Ali Al Rais told Reuters last week.

Dubai, the Gulf's tourism hub, recently opened its $4.5 billion airport terminal which will allow it to more than double its capacity to 65 million people per year from 25 million now.

Dubai is also pushing on with plans to build the world's largest airport - covering twice the size of Hong Kong's territory, the head of Dubai Airports said recently. (Reuters)
